New phone

by admin on Jan.07, 2012, under Business

Guest post from: Kent Lara

My husband got me a new iPhone for Christmas this year. He got me the original iPhone two years ago and I fell in love with it. I have become so dependent on having internet on my phone and being able to check my email anywhere that I do not know what I would do if my phone died. That is why when my phone started slowing down last month I put a bug in my husband’s ear that I would need a new phone soon. Lucky for him and me, I was eligible for an upgrade to a new phone right around Christmas time. I love my new phone but I am stumped on what kind of cover to get. It is a good thing we have clear wireless internet, because I have been reading all kinds of reviews online about what kind of cover to get. I want to get a cover that is as cute if not cuter than my last cover, but I want to make sure my phone is protected from our two-year-old son, who often tries to play with my phone. Hopefully I will find one that I like soon.

Shopping at a Thrift Store

by admin on Jan.04, 2012, under Uncategorized

My mom and I loves to go shopping but we don’t go to the mall, we go to thrift stores. We always find great items and last week my mom and I went to another thrift store. My mom found sheets and she also bought Christmas decors. Their Christmas decors are 80% off. My mom said she will be using the Christmas decors she bought next Christmas. Its a great price. its just like paying 12-30 cents for a box of Christmas balls. My mom and I are planning to go to a thrift store this Saturday.

A new hobby

by admin on Dec.30, 2011, under Uncategorized

Last Saturday, I went to my cousin’s place. She took a vacation from work and I was off that day. I haven’t seen her for a while so I went there to spend some time with her and to catch up with what is happening. Well she found a new hobby. She started to cross stitch and she showed me the picture of the finished product and it was really nice. She barely started and she said that it is hard. I did cross stitch before and it is really hard. I spent the whole day at her place watching movies while she was doing her cross stitch.

Woodworking shop

by admin on Nov.01, 2011, under Business

Guest post written by my buddy Bernardo Graham

Taking over my dad’s old woodworking shop was something I’ve always wanted to do but when it came time for me to actually do it I was terrified. I’d never owner my own business before and I was just scared I would make some huge, irrevocable mistakes but I was determined to succeed at this and I was ready for an uphill battle. I got a t3 line for the shop to talk to customers and I hired an assistant to work part time to really be able to take on bigger projects. I had a website made up which was something I’d been begging dad to do for years and I talked to people at all the local home improvement stores to try to get some good rates and deals hooked up going forward. I love that I’m really able to take charge and make all the big decisions and I can’t wait to see how everything turns out – it’s only a matter of time but if things keep up the way they are…

Those DOGS!

by admin on Sep.01, 2011, under Business

The Author of this post is Cheryl Martinez

My dogs aren’t just regular pets, they’re show dogs, so they require a lot of my time and energy. They’ve actually won a lot of money competing which almost makes all the hassles worth it in the long run! I spend hours each week grooming them and training them and since they’re both English Bulldogs they need a lot of training – that breed in particular is known to be very stubborn. I have a whole wing of the house dedicated to them and I think they’re quite happy with their www.SecurityCHOICE.com alarm and their little custom made beds. My partner Gary tells me I’m crazy for spending so much time on a couple of animals but they bring me so much joy and purpose I totally think it’s worth it. Some people play sports but this is my hobby so I don’t feel one bit bad about it to tell you the truth! There are far worse things a man of my age could get into so I don’t think I’m doing so badly afterall!

Summer Time Trip

by admin on Jun.30, 2011, under Business

It’s summer again which means it’s time for me and the kids to take off for the beach! I’m a teacher so I’ve got lots of great summer vacation to use up and since my mom lives at the beach, we already have a place to stay. I love St. Simons so much and I grew up going there, so it really feels like home. When we had that break in a few years ago I went to http://HomeSecurIty101.com to see about an alarm system since we’re usually gone for about a month or so at a time. You never know what’s going to happen when you’re away from home, even if you live in the safest area. The kids are really pumped to see Grandma and we got a new puppy this year that should love it at the beach, so that will be fun. I hope I don’t get as burned as I did last year but I’m going to make sure I wear plenty of SPF 70!Thanks for the post, Vernon Lowe

Oscar Night in the Basement

by admin on May.02, 2011, under Business

My friends and their wives are all movie buffs; we get together once a week to screen a flick at my place. I’ve got a home theater set-up in my basement so naturally when the Oscars come around I host the party. This year will be great because I switched from cable to satellite TV from DirectStarTV.com to get more HD channels so the movie clips will look great. That’s one of my favorite parts of the program when they show movie montages. I’ve seen a lot of movies but I always get an idea for something new.

I liked it back when Johnny Carson hosted the show; he was great, although Bil! ly Crystal was also good. They had the best joke writers in my opinion. Letterman was just plain awful. I like how they’re doing it this year with two younger actors hosting. Give them a little exposure.

We run a pool on who will win the major awards. Everyone is betting on Natalie Portman and Black Swan this year. We also take bets on who among the Best Actress nominees is going to be wearing the worst gown. That makes the red carpet part fun. We also vote on who gives the most disingenuous acceptance speech, best presenter, and sorest loser. I would like to be there in person sometime to let some of the stardust settle on me.The article written by Landon Gilbert
